The MT-LB driver-mechanic trainer is designed for training and practice of the driver-mechanic of the MT-LB tracked prime mover with the aim of developing and consolidating driving skills in various weather conditions (rain, snow, hail), seasons, times of day and visibility (day, night, fog), without expending the vehicle's engine life and fuel and lubricants.
The trainer provides realistic simulation of MT-LB control with accurate reproduction of the driver-mechanic's workstation, including dimensions, the location of the controls and the instrument panel. Motion dynamics are modeled taking into account engine power, transmission characteristics and behavior on different types of terrain (moderately rough, desert, mountain, swampy). The dynamic platform implements tilt angles of up to 20° in roll/pitch and movement along the axes of up to 200 mm, providing complete immersion in the training process.
The trainer makes it possible to practice the full MT-LB driving course on the armored vehicle driving track and on difficult terrain with realistic motion physics and sound effects. The system supports modeling of abnormal situations and equipment failures, automated assessment of exercise performance and report generation. The instructor is able to monitor the trainee's actions, set various terrain and weather parameters, introduce faults, conduct two-way communication and generate automatic reports, including summary sheets for the training day and month.
The package includes: the instructor's workstation with a unified desk, control console, uninterruptible power supply unit, hardware and software complex and video monitors; the trainer cab; a dynamic 6-degree platform; operating documents; spare parts; transport packaging. The visualization system provides a realistic display of the terrain taking weather conditions and time of day into account, fully corresponding to the real operating conditions of the MT-LB. All elements of the trainer, including the cab, controls and visualization system, are made in maximum conformity with the real prime mover, ensuring high training effectiveness. Documentation and archiving of the results of all training sessions for subsequent analysis is supported.
