The BTR-80 crew integrated trainer is designed for individual and joint training and practice of armored personnel carrier crews (commanders, machine gunners, driver-mechanics) with the aim of developing and consolidating skills in target reconnaissance and firing the BTR-80 weapons with all types of ammunition, in main and emergency modes, by day and night, at ground and air targets. It makes it possible to conduct crew coordination without expending engine life, fuel and lubricants, and ammunition.
The trainer provides studying the location and operation of the BTR-80 controls and developing skills in firing the 14.5 mm KPVT (up to 2,000 m) and 7.62 mm PKT (up to 1,500 m) at ground and air targets. Simulation of various conditions is supported: types of terrain (moderately rough, desert, mountain, swampy), times of day (day/night) and seasons (summer/winter). A dynamic platform realistically conveys the characteristics of armored vehicle motion.
The system makes it possible to practice the full Firing Course with realistic simulation of ballistics and target behavior. The instructor can control all aspects of training: ammunition expenditure, shooting results, exercise completion time. Generation of automated reports, documentation of results, two-way communication with the crew and modeling of various tactical scenarios are supported.
The package includes: the instructor's workstation (desk, control console, UPS, hardware and software complex, 6 monitors), the trainer cab with driver's compartments and fighting compartment, the BPU-1 turret machine gun mount, a 6-degree dynamic platform, a full set of documentation, spare parts and transport packaging. The trainer provides objective monitoring of trainees' actions through monitoring of the state of the controls, the field of view of the sights (1PZ-2, 1PZ-7) and observation devices (TKN-3B, TVN-5). It has functions for setting non-standard weather conditions, autonomous stopwatch control and displaying grades in accordance with standards. All components are supplied ready for use.
