Launch of a modern combined injection molding machine for rubber technical and silicone products

The new automated injection molding machine is designed for processing materials such as rubber, technical and medical grade solid silicone and other elastomers.

The injection unit is designed as a lattice structure with a check valve that guarantees an even feed of materials. The injection design is directed at the sprue system and ensures operation without material loss. The injection unit makes it possible to achieve a high plasticizing effect, which allows the use of special-purpose rubber compounds such as fluororubber, used for high-temperature, oil- and petrol-resistant rubber (NBR) parts. The injection system is equipped with a temperature heating controller. The screw material feed system is equipped with a low-speed, powerful hydraulic motor from the Japanese company “Yuken”, specially designed for a screw that works with all types of rubber materials. Micrometric control by “Mitsubishi” of the injection volume, combined with automatic mold opening and control of the material feed, guarantees high product quality.

Some important specifications of the machine:

Clamping force: 200 tons

Injection volume: 2000 cc

Injection pressure: 1800 kgf/cm²

Platen size: 550 * 560 mm

To allow the use of various raw material configurations, the machine is equipped with a calendering machine for producing raw rubber in sheets or ribbons for further vulcanization. At this stage of the process, pigments can be used to color the material, and a hardener can be added to the rubber composition to obtain a finished product with a specified hardness.

Solid silicone or rubber is suitable for economical production of large series of molded products. Parts made from them can be used for technical and pharmaceutical purposes. These materials are also suitable for use in combination with food products.

The first product on the new equipment is a polymer surge arrester designed to protect electrical equipment in 27.5 kV AC networks at 50 Hz frequency with isolated neutral against lightning and switching overvoltages.
