The GP-25 trainer is designed for training and practice of shooters in the use of the 40 mm GP-25 under-barrel grenade launcher in an environment close to modern combat, with the aim of maintaining stable skills in detecting and identifying targets, determining target movement parameters, determining the moment of firing, and assessing shooting results without expending grenades and the technical life of combat equipment, in classroom conditions.
The system makes it possible to study the design of the GP-25, practice battlefield reconnaissance in conditions of interference, and fire at static and moving targets. The full cycle of work is supported: preparing the weapon, selecting a target with priority determination, aiming taking grenade ballistics into account, launch, and assessment of results. Training is conducted on three types of terrain (moderately rough, desert, urban) in various weather conditions and times of day using high-precision visualization (1920×1080 resolution, 90° field of view). Battlefield effects are realistically reproduced: explosions, smoke, fires, illumination rounds.
The trainer is distinguished by a high degree of realism thanks to: accurate reproduction of the weapon's weight and dimension characteristics (grenade dummy 250–275 g); detailed visualization of terrain and targets; grenade flight physics; mechanical recoil on firing. The automatic system evaluates the shooter's actions, records errors, stores training history and generates reports. Operation in various lighting conditions (day, night, twilight) and weather phenomena (rain, snow, fog) is supported.
The package includes: the instructor's workstation, the shooter's workstation with simulated AK-74 and GP-25, a full set of operating documentation, spare parts and transport packaging. The trainer provides realistic simulation of firing VOG-25 grenades at ranges of up to 400 m with accurate reproduction of ballistic characteristics (initial velocity 76 m/s, self-destruction time 14 s). The instructor can: select shooting conditions; observe the trainee's actions; monitor the parameters of the selected target; conduct a review of exercise performance with a group. The system provides duplication of the shooter's field of view to demonstrate correct actions. All elements of the trainer are supplied ready for use and make it possible to practice exercises in full compliance with combat standards without using real ammunition.
