The SPG-9 trainer is designed for training and practice of grenade launcher operators of the SPG-9 tripod-mounted anti-tank grenade launcher in an environment close to modern combat, with the aim of developing and maintaining stable skills in detecting and identifying targets, determining target movement parameters, determining the moment of firing, and assessing shooting results without expending grenades and the technical life of combat equipment, in classroom conditions.
The system makes it possible to study the design of the SPG-9 and the PGO-9/PGOK-9/PGN-9 sights, practice battlefield reconnaissance in conditions of interference, and fire at static and moving targets (including helicopters). The full cycle of work is supported: preparing the weapon, selecting a target, aiming taking ballistics into account (initial grenade velocity 315 m/s, maximum 700 m/s), launch, and assessment of results. Training is conducted on three types of terrain (moderately rough, desert, urban) in various weather conditions and times of day using high-precision visualization (2048×1536 resolution for the sight, 1280×1024 for the external camera).
Realistic simulation of combat conditions with: accurate reproduction of the SPG-9 characteristics (direct fire range 800 m, rate of fire 6 rounds/min); grenade flight physics; visual effects (smoke, tracer, explosions); battlefield acoustics. The library contains 3D models of modern vehicles (T-72, M1A1, BMP-2, BTR-80, Mi-8). The system automatically evaluates actions, records errors, stores training history and generates reports.
The package includes: the instructor's workstation, the grenade launcher operator's workstation, a set of operating documentation, spare parts and transport packaging. The trainer provides realistic simulation of firing anti-tank (PG-9VS) and fragmentation (OG-9V) rounds at ranges from 100 to 4,500 m. The instructor can: select visibility conditions (day/night/twilight) and weather (rain, snow, fog); control target parameters; demonstrate the trainee's actions to the group; duplicate the shooter's field of view. The specifics of hitting targets with a shaped-charge jet depending on the angle of impact are taken into account. All elements of the trainer are supplied ready for use and make it possible to practice exercises in full compliance with combat standards.
